Born and raised in Ireland, a land of dark beer and pub culture, Sweeney Manus loves beer. At the age of 21, he moved to Amsterdam, the Netherlands to study sound engineering. He started a video production company and traveled around the world to work for the United Nations, including villages in Europe, Asia, Uganda, South African townships, and the Colombian countryside, and was drawn into the world of brewing by experiencing first-hand the potential of beer that "toasts connect the world." Sayaka Abe is an artist. After studying art in Japan, he moved to Amsterdam, a melting pot of cultures where artists from all over the world gather. Kamiyama Artist in Lady 2013 was my first encounter with Kamiyama. The people were very lively and full of curiosity. I was touched by the charm of rich nature that changes every day, and I fell in love with the spirit of "Just do it!", and moved to Kamiyama in February 2016.

KAMIYAMA BEER was created in the mountains of Shikoku in 2018 by Manus (Ireland) and Sayaka (Japan), who moved to Kamiyama Town from the Netherlands.

Manus, who had been enjoying home brewing in the Netherlands since 2014, wanted to drink delicious beer with the essence of Kamiyama here as well, so he decided in January 2017.
　
Little by little, the two began to prepare for the opening of the brewery, but the reality was a series of difficulties. However, in July 2018, with the help of many people, we were finally able to open a brewery.
For the past few years, we have been working on making beer using wild plants that can be collected in Kamiyama.
　
And even now, at the brewery, we are striving every day to make it a delicious and enjoyable brewery.
