We want to reduce the number of deer that are discarded and realize a cycle that connects lives.
I used to work as a nurse in Tokyo, but when I moved to Hokkaido, I got a hunting license and obtained a permit to carry a gun. I experienced hunting, felt a strong sense of responsibility for life, and learned about the harm of deer. Deer are pests in Japan, and if left unchecked, they will continue to increase and expand forest damage, so it is essential to manage the number of deer (hunting and extermination) hundreds of thousands of deer per year in Japan. Nearly 90% of the deer that are exterminated are discarded, and taxes are thrown into huge processing fees.
We believe that the rebirth of discarded deer into high-quality leather products through correct treatment and management will be a cycle that connects lives and is environmentally friendly.
I want to make a cycle of eating deer meat and using leather in gratitude for life. With that in mind, I quit my job as a nurse in 2014 and started a meat processing business, and in 2018 I launched the deer leather brand "LEATHERECTION".
"LEATHERECTION" means to be reborn again. I would like to tell you about the goodness of deer leather as a circulating life.
