ROSEBAY OF HIMALAYAN SALT
ROSEBAY salt is mined on slopes at an altitude of 3,200 meters near the Annapurna mountain range in the Himalayas of central Nepal.
It is believed that about 300 to 400 million years ago, when present-day India was still an independent continent, it collided with the Eurasian continent due to tectonic movements and lifted it up, creating the current Himalayas.
In the process of building the mountain range, the sediments of seawater in the Tethys Sea and the animals and plants on the seafloor between the two continents were fossilized over a period of 30 million to 50 million years and ultra-hot magmatic activity, and the three types of Himalayan rock salt of ROSEBAY were fossilized.
This rock salt is formed from completely unpolluted seawater before the birth of mankind on earth, and contains very valuable natural minerals.
Due to the topography, it is difficult to get to the mining site by vehicle, and the local staff with yaks climb the steep mountainous area, and the mining is all by hand without using machines, so the crystals are very beautiful.
Together with the future of Nepal
In 1997, before our founding, we started volunteer activities in Nepal in cooperation with JICA projects.
We continue to donate 3% of the proceeds of our product "Himalayan Ruby Salt" to support the operation of the Kagachi Village Healthcare Center, a medical facility built in 2003 with the cooperation of the Miyagi International Support Association.
Currently, we are focusing on supporting students in Nepal, and we are providing free Japanese education using a web-learning system.
