Pi~chan beans are a delicacy made by roasting peanuts and soaking them in a sauce made from three-hot sugar, soy sauce, and chili peppers.
This manufacturing method is modeled after the local dish "soy sauce beans" that have been handed down in Kagawa Prefecture since ancient times.
Soy sauce beans are usually made from dried broad beans. The texture is familiar to the people of the prefecture, but some people do not like it because of the unique aroma of broad beans and the hardness of the skin.
Therefore, this product was born by using major peanuts as a snack and trying to make soy sauce beans that are easy for many people to eat.
In product development, simply replace fava beans with peanuts... However, it was a series of challenges that made me scratch my head even with the technology I had cultivated over many years of soy sauce bean making.
Product development was difficult, such as adjusting the roasting condition unique to peanuts and not soaking in the flavor of the sauce well, but we finally created a product that we were satisfied with.
The only raw materials used are "peanuts, three-hot sugar, soy sauce, and chili peppers". No additives are used.
Since it is vacuum-packed and sterilized under pressure, the shelf life is half a year from the date of manufacture, even without preservatives. It locks in freshly made flavors.
The roasting of the peanuts gave it a savory finish, and the sweet and spicy soy sauce soaked into it, making it a snack of sake that you can't stop eating once you start eating it.
Of course, it can also be used as a side dish or tea. It has already been heated, so you can enjoy it immediately after opening.
It can be stored for a long time at room temperature, so you can keep it in the cupboard and quickly make a quick dish for dinner on a busy day. You can also use it like this.
Unlike fava beans with soy sauce, you don't have to worry about the hardness of the skin, and compared to common snacks like peanuts, the sauce is soaked in the sauce and has a unique texture that is a little softer.
