🍀 Concept supervision of the Finnish National Tourism Board, bath towels made of birch by towel craftsmen in Imabari
This bath towel is made of birch thread inspired by Finnish nature. We have developed a fabric with an emphasis on a comfortable texture when touched.
In order to fully feel the comfortable touch of the towel, it is designed to be a pile fabric up to the hem (edge of the towel).
It is a size that allows you to experience the texture of the Vihita towel when it touches the skin with your whole body. Please enjoy the experience of being surrounded by plants.
* Waterproof package is not included.
Due to the different dyeing conditions of cotton yarn and rayon yarn, the towel fabric has two slightly different colors.
In pursuit of the beauty of the two-colored spots, we expressed the rich nature of Finland, including Vichta.
Under the supervision of the Finnish National Tourism Board, it is available in a total of four colors, named in Finnish.
・Vihita (green): A bundle of young birch branches, a symbol of early summer and spring.
・ Kamos (navy blue): Polar night, which is also a symbol of winter in Finland, and the day when the sun does not rise.
Järvi (light blue): Lake. Finland is a large lake country with about 188,000 lakes.
・Viti (white): Fluffy snow. In Finnish, there are many different expressions of snow, and among them, it means fresh snow.
🍀 Vichta towels were born from the nature of Finland
For more than 2,000 years, saunas have taken root in our daily lives, and Finland is known as a country that coexists with nature.
In this Scandinavian country, it is customary to bring bundles of young birch branches called vichta into the sauna room and enjoy the scent of the forest in a room steamed by humid heat.
Its fragrance is a symbol of contemplating the budding of spring in the harsh winter season and celebrating the arrival of early summer. People enjoy the difference in seasons that nature creates through Vichta.
🍀 Towel woven with birch fibers
While emphasizing the comfortable texture when wiping the skin, the original fabric of Vihita towel also takes into account ease of squeezing and quick drying.
We are particular about realizing the water absorption that absorbs water and sweat firmly, and the texture of a supple and fruit-filled towel that is conscious of plants.
In Imabari, craftsmen carefully weave using a towel loom.
Of the fabric consisting of 65% cotton yarn and 35% rayon yarn, rayon is blended with birch fibers. It was completed in cooperation with a spinning company as Hartwell's original yarn "Sauna Yarn".
