The people at Ecoar Co., Ltd. use an electric current to activate the airbags, and manually cut out the airbags and seat belts one by one.

In addition, yoccatta TOKYO has steered to the implementation of "Ethical Try" since 2021. This is an attempt to shift from the "selfish" to the "sustainable" norm, and to achieve this only with the cooperation and understanding of our partners.

The first thing we raised was "local production for local consumption." We have realized the switch of production bases from overseas partner factories to domestic production. By not taking Japan's waste materials overseas and performing all processes in Japan, we reduce the transportation distance and the number of trips, thereby reducing the burden on the environment. We have also collected cutting scraps and are now able to manage everything.

Another initiative is to support the employment of people with disabilities. Unlike virgin materials, airbags, which have a three-dimensional shape, need to be dismantled by hand and made into a flat fabric. This very important process is outsourced to Shinwa Renaissance, a factory operated by a facility for people with intellectual disabilities. This welfare factory, which has been contracted to assemble automobile parts for many years, has been devised in various ways to create an environment where people with disabilities can work safely. It is because of our partner companies that we are where we are today.
