Since I was a child, I have lived a life that uses as little plastic as possible, but when I lived in Singapore, I was puzzled by the amount of plastic waste. Even in Japan, plastic may be reduced due to the introduction of a charge for plastic shopping bags, but eliminating (not using) is not an option. As much as 8 million tonnes of plastic are dumped into the ocean every year, and it does not break down, becomes part of the food chain, and ultimately indirectly affects our bodies.
