Making loungewear that is comfortable, made in Japan, and sustainable
From the planning stage, we worked together to create the product with the advice of Mr./Ms. Kajiwara, a world-renowned textile designer.
I visited factories all over Japan and was impressed by the excellence of Japan's manufacturing and the high level of skill of Mr./Ms.. In particular, the story of a long-established factory Mr./Ms. who fell into a management crisis due to a decrease in orders due to the Corona disaster was a heartbreaking thought. My passion for product development was also connected to my desire to protect Japan's reliable technology. Felcy's loungewear is made up of a factory of experts in materials, manufacturing, and design.
The most important thing was comfort. "Solotex", selected from many fiber Mr./Ms. pulls, is characterized by its soft texture, stretch, cushioning, superb touch and lightness. It is rare to find a machine that can knit cardboard knitwear with thin yarn containing Solotex, and the number of factories that can manufacture it is limited. Therefore, we asked the Mr./Ms.Mr./Ms. of the fabric factory "Kojima Meriyasu" in Aichi Prefecture, which has a reputation for the technology of machines that do not put a load on the yarn and the skilled craftsmen who operate it.
With an emphasis on sustainability, we asked Mr./Ms. of Gifu Prefecture, who is working on the environment, to dye the product. The company is working on various activities to reduce CO2 emissions by utilizing biomass technology in the dyeing process, which generally has a high environmental impact. By adding a weak mercerization to the finish, there is less fluff and it can be worn for a long time.
We were particular about the design and color. It is a loose construction that does not tighten the body, but the slit and the length of the back body are devised to create a silhouette with a sense of comfort so that it can be used as one-mile wear.
The resulting loungewear is exactly what I want to wear, which is as comfortable as if it were wrapped in air. I wish I had slept wearing this when I was a flight attendant.
