The first thing that was done at #wakami PJ was to make original paper, as is the case with two companies involved in paper.
The first is:「#wakami_torinoko」。
The top-of-the-line paper "Tori-no-ko", which was named after the expression "the color of the paper is like a bird's egg" by comparing it to eggs, which was a high-class ingredient at the time in the past, has been reproduced in the present day while retaining its functions such as preservation and glossy reproducibility.
We have decided to pass on this paper to the future with its adaptation to modern stationery, mainly with diversifying inks, and its unique preservation properties.
Second,「#wakami_sutenai」。
Based on the concept of "paper circulates," which is a unique property of washi made possible by Japan's water and resources, it was developed while tackling the "environmental problem" that has been called out in recent years.
This paper is composed of 20% corrugated cardboard and all other waste paper, mainly waste paper in the factory.
In addition, we welcomed Tsubonoya Paper Industry, a professional in waste paper collection, to the project team, and sorted and collected garbage from offices at multiple companies in order to turn it into a resource.
By 2024, we aim to achieve paper composed of 20% corrugated cardboard, 60% recycled paper in factories, and 20% resources from offices.
