[About red rice]
Red rice generally contains more nutrients than white rice, such as 8 times more dietary fiber, 3 times more calcium, and 4 times more magnesium.
In Sri Lanka, there are rice varieties that have been developed by local farmers for more than 3,000 years and have been passed down from generation to generation, and most of these traditional rice is red rice.
Traditional rice is grown using traditional natural farming methods and does not use any synthetic fertilizers or pesticides. Therefore, it has characteristics that are superior to varieties that have been bred in recent years, and has a strong resistance to survive the effects of climate change such as drought and heavy rainfall.
