The main raw materials for PAPLUS® products are PLA (polylactic acid), which is mainly lactic acid obtained by fermenting corn starch, and paper.
By making it from earth-friendly materials, it has a unique texture of natural materials like pottery and wood products, and we value individuality such as color and shade so that you can use it with love.
■ Particular design
Plastic Free Tumbler Black is particular about a simple design to make the most of the unique texture of the material.
In order to straighten the silhouette of the side of the tumbler, we are particular about post-processing from the mold, and finally polish it to give it a matte texture.
■ Particular black color
Black that goes well with PAPLUS,® which has a minimalist design policy. We are particular about the details of the expression, and we use a matte one, and the inside is left as it is so as not to erase all the original texture of PAPLUS®, and only the outside is urethane-coated to create a two-tone color.
■ About urethane coating
The coating used this time is a urethane coating that is painted by dissolving black pigment in urethane resin, and it is an artificial paint that is considered harmless to the human body and complies with the Food Sanitation Law. In addition, PAPLUS, which has a high proportion of naturally derived ingredients, is a little delicate to water like wood products, but urethane coating increases water resistance and has the effect of suppressing the speed of aging.
In fact, the biodegradable resin (polylactic acid) derived from corn, which is the main raw material of PAPLUS®, has the property of repelling paint. We were able to solve this problem with the priming technology of a partner factory that has the know-how of lacquer coating, which is Japan's manufacturing.
* The collected color variations can be peeled off with a tool such as a grinder, and the inside is not painted, so only pure PAPLUS® materials can be efficiently sent to the remanufacturing process.
■ Commitment to packaging
The packaging is made of "chip balls", which are 100% recycled paper made from recycled newspaper and magazine paper.
■ Warm drinks are also OK
While many products with high purity of plant-derived ingredients do not have a heat-resistant function, the heat-resistant temperature of Plastic-Free Tumbler Black is 120°C, so you can use it for warm drinks with confidence.
■ Materials that are in harmony with the earth
About 86% of Plastic-Free Tumbler Black is made of corn-derived resin and paper, which are plant-derived ingredients.
Natural viscosity minerals (about 7%) and petroleum-derived additives (about 7%) are added to the main components to ensure heat resistance. *1
In addition, most of the material is decomposed into water and carbon dioxide by the action of microorganisms. *2
*1 Please be assured that the minimum additives used comply with the Food Sanitation Law stipulated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare.
Many so-called eco-friendly products do not mention additives.
Please be careful.
*2 The time and degree required for decomposition vary greatly depending on the environment, so we do not guarantee 100%.
■ Recycle instead of throwing away
If PAPLUS® products are thrown in the trash, they will be incinerated. Since it is made almost entirely from plant-derived ingredients, it is carbon neutral (virtually does not increase CO2), but please cooperate in recovering it as a resource and remanufacturing it instead of incinerating it as garbage. Let's create a new cycle together.
Note: Recycling is only available for businesses in Japan.
