At first, it was just curiosity.
"Barrel wood that has aged whiskey for many years will definitely still produce something 'good', right?"
So, our Sake Hack Project made it into a glass bottle and soaked it in alcohol.
Then, it turned out to be surprisingly delicious.
That's right.
The barrel is impregnated with the ingredients of whiskey that has been grown over time.
If you pour new sake into it, it will ooze out the "flavor of time".
What is a keg stick?
Born as a bourbon barrel in the United States, after moving to Japan, it was cut from real barrel wood that was actually used for 30~40 years of aging, so to speak, "pieces of time".
If you put it in a bottle and wait 7 days, you will find a new cup with added mellowness and depth.
It's simple to use
1. Prepare your favorite liquor (whiskey, shochu, rum, etc.)
2. Add barrel sticks
3. Lay it in a cool, dark place for a few days to a week
4. Done!
No special tools or effort are required. You just have to "leave it to time."
A change in taste that seems to "accelerate time"
In a few days, the corners were removed and mellow.
That feeling of adding depth to the scent and letting the "scent of the barrel" escape through the nose.
Your whiskey will be a "cup that can be spoken".
Commitment to materials
We use barrel wood that has been growing whiskey for more than 30 years at a long-established distillery in Japan.
The American white oak wood, which has a history as a cradle of whiskey, is carefully cut by hand one by Hamamatsu woodworkers in a straight line.
