In Tendo City, Yamagata Prefecture, known as the village of shogi pieces and fruits, Ota Foods was founded in 1970.
The founder was born and raised in Tendo City, and it started when he boiled the river fish he caught and sold it to the neighbors. Since ancient times, there has been a custom in this area to boil river fish in honeydew using soy sauce, mirin, and sugar, and store it until winter.
The founder's commitment to manufacturing was extraordinary. In order to make even more delicious honeydew stew, even the machine was made by himself, and he repeatedly devised his own manufacturing methods and seasonings. That attitude has been passed down unchanged even after more than 50 years.
The production of honeydew stew, which began with river fish, eventually spread to nutrient-rich sea blue fish such as sardines, sardines, and sashimi. We pursued a unique manufacturing method tailored to the characteristics of each fish, and completed a honeydew stew that can be eaten soft to the bone.
Behind the reputation that has spread through word of mouth is a sincere attitude towards manufacturing. We carefully create each one while thoroughly managing hygiene and paying attention to safety. This attitude has never changed since our founding.
