The islanders do all the processes by hand
I planned to develop the product because I wanted to do something about my hometown, but the reality of the lack of successors was more severe than I expected, and at first I received a fierce backlash from the islanders, saying, "Who would do it if there were no people?"
We started by asking local volunteers and the youth section of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to cut the grass and harvest the grass, and we also held workshops using camellia oil, and gradually gained understanding among the islanders while dispelling the old image of camellia oil.
Currently, we are reconsidering the charm of the region together with the islanders, and are consistently working on the planning and development of original cosmetics using camellia oil.
The management of natural camellias, which are native to Kakara Island, is carried out with "pesticide-free", "chemical-free fertilizer", and "herbicide-free" without sparing any effort.
We do not use seeds or fruits that have fallen to the ground, and only the fruits that grow on the trees are harvested by hand. Everything from oil pressing to filtration is done by hand. The harvested fruit is dried in the sun for 2~3 days, and when the shell cracks naturally, the seeds are removed from the shell and shipped.
In order not to destroy the components of camellia oil, we are working on the development of products made by the cold-pressed manufacturing method (non-heat treatment), and all products are made of natural ingredients without additives.
