Against the backdrop of the rich nature and traditions of the Tsugaru region of Aomori Prefecture, Mimizuku Co., Ltd. aims to realize a sustainable society through both forestry and agriculture.
In the forestry field, we are working on reforestation using lacquer seedlings to address local issues where reforestation has not progressed after clear-cutting. Lacquer can collect sap in 10~15 years, making it possible to achieve both forest regeneration and economic value from a long-term perspective.
In addition, the lacquer seedlings are produced by people at the Type B Employment Support Office for Persons with Disabilities, and we are also focusing on the practice of forestry and welfare cooperation and universal forestry, such as planting and undercutting in collaboration with students from Hirosaki University and Goshogawara Agriculture and Forestry High School.
In the agricultural field, we use abandoned farmland as "Kobayashi Fumu" to develop environmentally friendly agriculture that does not use pesticides. The company produces a variety of agricultural products such as bell peppers, Yamato rouge (red corn), myoga, chestnuts, and even wild vegetables from its own forests.
These activities have been highly regarded as sustainable initiatives based on the Green Food System Act, such as receiving "Green Certification" from Aomori Prefecture.
We are also focusing on developing products that make the most of local resources, such as jelly and cold soup made with apples from Aomori Prefecture, lacquer seedlings, and upcycled products of young seedlings born during the production process.
We are committed to being "friendly to people and the environment" in all processes, including production background, selection of raw materials, and collaboration with people with disabilities and students, and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs. This commitment embodies the brand's worldview.
