Chita Organic Food, the company behind the lumlum brand of organically processed foods, is a small, family-owned food manufacturer located in Lamphun Province, a suburb of Chiang Mai in northwestern Thailand.

Prior to its founding in 2009, Somkiat and Jaruwan had been buying vegetables from local farmers to make sauces, curry pastes and other condiments for more than 15 years.

At one point, his wife, Jarwan, falls ill. This was thought to be due to a weakened immune system due to chemicals such as pesticides and chemical fertilizers that had been used on farms for many years.

She decided to shift to natural foods to regain her strength, but she realized that Thai food at the time used a lot of chemical seasonings and very few products that used only organic ingredients. So, I went door to door to persuade them to start organic farming, but none of them agreed. Reluctantly, they decided to start their own farm. They plowed a small farm of 8 hectares and began to grow vegetables and other things.

However, I knew almost nothing about organic farming, and it was a difficult road to harvest almost nothing for the first few years until I figured out how to regenerate the soil that had been hardened by chemicals and find a natural way to prevent insects.

In 2011, some of the agricultural products we produce were certified organic by the EU, and we were able to use them to produce seasonings such as traditional Thai sauces and curry pastes, which had been our specialty until then, using only organic ingredients.

Today, under the "lumlum" brand, the company complies with international certifications and manufacturing guidelines, and uses only natural ingredients to manufacture more than 100 kinds of food products such as sauces and curry pastes, which are traditional Thai flavors, salad dressings, teas, jams, etc., and export them not only to Thailand, but also to Europe, the United States, Australia, and other countries.

The name Chita is derived from the name of the couple's daughter, Rancita, and the company motto is "Good food, Good life". The brand name "lumlum" means "delicious" in the northern Thai dialect.
