Sancha was born in 1981 as the first Indian tea brand after India's independence.
We started importing Indian tea 40 years ago as a pioneer in Japan.
It all started when my grandfather's younger brother was stationed in India.
The name "Sancha" is a coined word that combines the Buddhist ruins "Sanchi" and "tea". The founder was deeply inspired by Tenshin Okakura's "The Book of Tea" and awakened to his mission to spread tea culture to the world with pride as an Asian.
We inherit this deep spirituality and promote initiatives that are environmentally and socially considerate while preserving tradition, such as collaboration with the CO2 zero-CO2 tea garden "Jalinga". Please let me introduce you to the essence of Indian tea, which is full of history and thoughts.
