By improving the circulation of kanta, we hope to pass on traditional techniques and support the independence of women in the village
In 2011, I visited Bangladesh for the first time.
Kanta is a traditional cloth that has been popular as a bridal tool for a long time, and is layered with several worn-out vintage sarees
Hand-embroidered sewn from above.
I was instantly captivated by the charm of Kanta and at the same time felt the potential of Kanta tremendously.
On the other hand, the current situation of the workshops in the village that produces kanta was full of problems.
By letting more people know about the charm of Kanta, a better cycle will be created, which will lead to the inheritance of traditional techniques as well as support for the independence of women in the village!
Convinced of this, in June 2022, we launched the Kanta brand amAra.
