It is a handmade table clock with a powder (mineral pigment) made from crushed obsidian (obsidian) on the dial.
It is a pale gray color with a sense of transparency, and it shimmers depending on the light environment.
Obsidian is a natural black glass formed when magma suddenly cools and hardens. When split, the cross section becomes very sharp, so it has been used as a knife since the Stone Age.
When it is finely crushed as a mineral pigment, it becomes a pale gray powder, which is quite different from the pitch-black impression of rough stones, but if you think that it is made from materials that have supported people's lives for tens of thousands of years, the appearance may change slightly.
The main body is made by a method called "potter's wheel pulling" in Kaga Yamanaka, Ishikawa Prefecture, which has a history of more than 400 years as a lacquerware production area, by applying a halberd (canna) to a rotating tree. The material is zelkova, the wood grain is beautiful, and the texture is smooth and moist.
The dial is made of Japanese paper made by Mayumi Ishikawa, who makes Japanese paper in Futamata Town, Kanazawa City.
On top of that, "mineral pigments" made by crushing natural stones are applied in layers. The index is gold leaf from Kanazawa.
