Kagoshima Prefecture is actually one of the leading bell pepper producing areas in Japan. Among them, in Higashikushira Town on the Osumi Peninsula, the cultivation of bell peppers is thriving as the "Kagoshima brand". It is glossy, firm, and fresh, with little bitterness, and the thick and juicy bell pepper is useful in a variety of dishes. Most of the harvested peppers are shipped to metropolitan areas, but there are a certain number of peppers that are difficult to sell on farms or are discarded. I bought such non-standard peppers and made craft beer. Dark Ale, which is packed with the blueness of green peppers called "Miogi", is a dark beer that is refreshing and allows you to taste the aroma of green peppers, contrary to its appearance. It is a confident work that won the silver medal at the International Beer Cup 2024.
