The cloisonne crest, which is filled with circles in an orderly row, is a congratulatory crest that signifies harmony and auspiciousness, and is also used in the treasures of Shosoin in ancient times.
By layering ultra-thin washi paper (Tosa Noritsu Paper) on platinum foil, platinum sparkles and shines delicately through the gaps in the fibers of the washi paper, and on top of that, Japanese paper cut out into cloisonne crests is pasted on top of it. By changing the way the light hits and the angle of view, the underlying platinum shines softly and the pattern emerges.
The main body is made by a method called "potter's wheel pulling" in Kaga Yamanaka, Ishikawa Prefecture, which has a history of more than 400 years as a lacquerware production area, by applying a halberd (canna) to a rotating tree. The material is zelkova, the wood grain is beautiful, and the texture is smooth and moist.
The dial is made of Japanese paper made by Mayumi Ishikawa, who makes Japanese paper in Futamata Town, Kanazawa City.
On top of that, "mineral pigments" made by crushing natural stones are applied in layers. The index is gold leaf from Kanazawa.
