Kagoshima's bancha "Hanzucha" Jar-roasted tea is produced by roasting it in a water jar without the conventional steaming process. It is a traditional bancha that has been passed down from generation to generation only around the production area of Satsuma ware. Hanzu is the Kagoshima dialect and the meaning of the water bottle, which is the origin of the name. Originally, tea leaves grown on the eaves were used and enjoyed as tea for home use. Once, production was interrupted due to the aging of producers, but aiming to revive Kagoshima's traditional bancha, Nagano Tea Factory started production in 2021. We use water bottles, and everything is manufactured by hand and hand rubbing. The amount that can be produced per year is extremely small compared to green tea and roasted tea. It has a gorgeous fruit-like aroma similar to oolong tea and a refreshing menthol-like aftertaste. It is recommended to leach with boiling water, and it can be easily brewed.
