Symbolizing courage and strength, Horamama's special coffee COCOCA, where horamama is grown, is a producers' union established in 2012 and is a large-scale organization that supports 39 cooperatives and approximately 30,000 coffee producers. Located in the Mutanga district, the fields have little temperature difference throughout the year, and the abundant rainfall and volcanic fertile soil grow high-quality coffee. The name "Horamama" comes from a traditional song that women used to sing on their way to the fields and on their way back. The song means "courage" and "strength", and it has become a symbol for women to forget the fatigue of labor. In particular, for mothers and children who fled the Rwandan genocide, coffee cultivation is used as an important source of food to support their new lives.
