It is still little known in Japan, and it is a tropical honey of the harinashi bee (from Malaysia).
It is a sweet, sour and smooth honey with propolis naturally dissolved.
It is the honey of a harina wasp called Geniotrigona thoracica.
Bees are kept in an environment close to the forest, and most of the nectar sources are forest plants.
It is a mysterious honey that has very little acidity as pot honey, and tastes like blueberries, even though blueberries are not grown. The characteristic sourness, which makes you feel mayonnaise somewhere, is also unique. Perhaps related to such a taste, it is very rich in minerals. In particular, there is about 50 mg of sodium, while other pot honey is about (3~7mg/100g).
(Since it is a natural product, there are some differences in flavor and ingredients depending on the production lot)
Bee Type: Geniotrigona thoracica
Nectar source: An unspecified number of fruit trees and forest flowers
