KAROSS is popular for its stunning embroidery. His creations are full of passion and pride in color and design.
Irma, a visual artist and farmer wife in Limpopo Province, was inspired by the vibrant culture of the Shangaan seasonal workers and wanted to be involved in creating new income for local women and men. In 1988, Kalos embroidery began with five Shangaan women
Kalos means blanket, and while sitting on it, they have created embroidery pieces with modern designs based on their own culture and traditions. Kalos revived traditional embroidery among the Shangaan and Northern Sotho peoples, providing creative work and a better life for around 1300 embroidery makers, mainly local women.
One of the great aspects of African culture is that people come together to make things. In Africa, there is a belief that "because we are, I am too." This deeply rooted feeling of the "we" before the "I" is the source of Kalos's power.
In 2017, the Kalos Foundation was born. The foundation is a non-profit organization whose main objective is to continuously improve the quality of life of its employees and their communities, with a focus on the education sector and also dedicating time to the self-development of its employees.
The name "KAROSS" is written on the front of the tag and "HAND EMBROIDERED SHANGAAN CLOTHS" on the back, which is hand-embroidered by the Shangaan people. Not only is it beautiful, but it's also durable, it's 100% handmade and top-of-the-line. This Kalos pouch is made of black cloth with fine embroidery. The embroidery is only on one side, and the back side is not embroidered. The fabric and sewing are solid, so you can use it for a long time. The color combination of the zipper and lining is also very tasteful, and you will want to show it off to your friends.
You can adjust the cord for the bag to your favorite length by changing the knotting method. It is also removable, so you can use it as a bag or a pouch.
