■Selected materials■
The fabric used for the animals in Calapau is a 100% natural wool wool fabric called "Burel", which has been made for more than 400 years in a small mountain village in the Estrale Mountains of Portugal. It is a very durable fabric because it is made of Portuguese wool, woven and shrunk by traditional craftsmanship. In the past, it was used for cloaks and jackets to protect against rain and wind in mountainous areas.

■Advanced sewing technology■
While the burel is durable, it is very thick and requires advanced sewing techniques to express the beautiful forms of the animals. Currently (May 2023), Rita is making it alone, so she can only produce 30~40 bodies per month.
The inner material is made of recycled polyester wadding, which is environmentally friendly. Because it is tightly packed to the ends, it feels like a hard cushion that does not lose its shape.
With the hope that "I want parents and children to pass it down from generation to generation until it becomes an antique," we carefully sew each animal stitch.
■Detailed animal settings■
Each of the 34 species of animals has its own specific animal setting and name.
For example, he is popular for his fashionable colors, and he is "EMO of the South American giant anteater"
In addition, Japanese instructions are attached to the animals, so you can learn about their habitat and ecology.
