When launching the Seamos gel brand, the first thing we faced was the fact that Seamoss is a material that is very susceptible to the influence of the ocean environment.
Seamoss, a seaweed, is directly related to the quality of the water and environment of the sea where it grows.
Despite this, the traceability of many seamoss products on the market is currently unclear.
Even sea moss, which is popular worldwide, is actually a mixture of ingredients from multiple origins.
In addition, it is difficult to see which companies are processing in what environment. We felt a great sense of incongruity there.
That's why we chose to review the raw materials.
I arrived at the Palawan Islands in the Philippines.
It has a marine nature conservation area registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is a place where development has been suppressed and the highly transparent sea still remains.
Because of the protected sea, it was not easy to find raw materials.
Still, I went to the site and saw with my own eyes the state of the sea and how the sea moss was raised, and I was convinced that it was meaningless if it was not the sea moss of this sea.
The harvested sea moss is shipped directly to Japan without intermediaries.
After that, it is carefully processed at a factory in Japan where we can see it.
The origin area must be clear and the processing process must be visible.
It seemed obvious, but it was actually very difficult.
This bottle is filled with all the sea and processes that have been carefully selected without compromise, taking the material seamoss seriously.
