As a designer, I don't want to make disposable things
As a designer, it has always been my dream to launch a brand and make things, but I was worried about increasing the number of things in a world full of things. As a result of never making environmentally friendly or disposable plastic products, making ethical and eco-friendly products, and trying to make meaningful things that can be left in the world, we launched the brand with the mission of passing on the knowledge and talents of Japan's traditional craftsmen to the next generation.
What are we doing?
Enjoy the individuality of pottery from different production areas with one design
In order to convey the fun of Japan pottery to customers, we design cups and develop a series that will serve as an encyclopedia of pottery.

The shape of the designed cup (large and small) is made by craftsmen in each production area. Since the techniques, soils and glazes of each production area are different, the impression of the same shape will be completely different.

Currently, it is produced at 10 kilns, including Hasami ware and Iga ware, and by matching the shape of the cups, it is easier to compare the soil and glaze used in each pottery and the method of making. In addition, you can experience and enjoy the texture and weight by touching it with your hands.

By making representative cups by taking advantage of the types of pottery from each production area and the individuality of the craftsmen, we aim to create a series that can be used as a pottery encyclopedia. I would like to gradually increase the variety of pottery and make it easy to compare the textures of the materials, and make the collection interesting from an educational point of view.
Commitment to the product
Asemico manufactures products that value the history, culture, tradition and manufacturing methods of the production area.

"Ohori Soma Ware Cup"

Ohori Soma ware in Fukushima Prefecture has a history of more than 300 years since its founding, and there were nearly 100 kilns in the Edo period, but in March 2011, the Great East Japan Earthquake struck. Due to the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant that acsued the earthquake, residents and businesses in Ohori, which was located 10 km from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant, were forced to evacuate and disperse, and only 11 of the 25 kilns before the earthquake were able to resume pottery.

The whetstone used as a raw material for the glaze became impossible to mine due to radioactive contamination from the nuclear power plant accident, and the kilns were in danger of going out of business, but they developed a glaze with the same color as the whetstone and resumed production.

Asemico's Ohori Soma ware is emerald that makes use of the beautiful "blue crack"

It is characterized by green. When the "blue crack" appears, it was Karankaran

The cool sound is described as "the birth of pottery" and is suitable for the beginning

It's a substitute. We do not dare to draw a "running piece", and finish it in a simple design that fits into everyday life.
Who are supporting us?
The Asemico brand does not specify how to use the product at all, and customers are free to use it. It can be used in various ways, such as teacups, small bowls, and pen stands, but recently many Asemico products are used in cafes. In particular, the porcelain cups of Hasami ware are popular because they are easy to use in restaurants.

It is available in more than 15 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Europe, the United States, and more than 30 countries and regions, and is also available for online shipping.
