Cadaru Akita offers sweets that take advantage of the blessings of the region, focusing on Akita's summer strawberries "Akita Natsukyo". In order to realize the brand's worldview, we have three concepts: "valuing the thoughts of producers," "creating a regional recycling-based system," and "creating value that is not bound by appearances."
First, in order to value the thoughts of producers, we have introduced a system that buys all strawberries at the same price, regardless of shape or size. This allows growers to focus on growing strawberries with peace of mind, and the number of new entrants in agriculture is increasing. In addition, he established a cultivation method unique to Akita and pursued strawberry cultivation that suits the local climate and soil. By consistently carrying out everything from production to processing and sales within the region, we also contribute to the revitalization of the local economy.
In product development, in order to bring out the individuality of summer strawberries to the fullest, we are particular about recipes and manufacturing methods that make the most of the taste of the ingredients. For example, we have repeatedly devised ways to take advantage of the sweetness, aroma, and texture of strawberries, such as lang de cha, baumkuchen, gummies, and jams. In the process of making products, we have a system in place to process strawberries immediately after harvest so as not to damage their freshness and flavor.
From the perspective of the SDGs, we are also working to reduce food loss, create local jobs, and promote sustainable agriculture. By not wasting B-grade strawberries, which tend to be sorted out based on their appearance, and using them in all products, we are realizing a recycling-oriented business model that makes the most of resources. As a brand that connects Akita's nature, people, and the future, Cadaru Akita will continue to engage in activities rooted in the community.
