We want to solve the problem of marine plastics from Aizu
In 2019, I met Michio Komatsu, a leading expert in bioplastic molding, and learned that 80% of marine garbage is land garbage flowing down rivers.
So much from inland? I was wrong. As the snow melted, the garbage stood out, and when I picked it up, it took about 30 minutes to fill three garbage bags. I was shocked that this was the reality.
Is it possible to solve the problem of marine plastics from Aizu? We are a company that molds plastic to make tableware. I thought that if I could contribute to the problem of marine litter, I could open up the future, and if I used PLA (polylactic acid), a material that returns to the soil at our molding factory, I could develop products with "biodegradable plastics" that can be biodegraded, detoxified, and returned to the earth by the power of nature.
Based on the idea of "making items that can be used on a daily basis with biodegradable plastic!", we want to develop environmentally friendly products that are closely related to our daily lives.
