I want to liven up the declining timber industry from my hometown of Kumano.
Shingu City, Wakayama Prefecture, where the base of Jobi is located, is located in a place that has been called Kumano since ancient times, and is an area that originally flourished in lumber. Since ancient times, the land of Kumano has been regarded as a sacred place where the gods dwell, and today it is surrounded by many World Heritage Sites. In addition, Wakayama Prefecture has long been known as the "Land of Trees" and has been known as a place that produces excellent wood. However, it is now called an isolated island on land, and it is considered a disadvantageous place in logistics, and the timber industry is in decline. Kuratani, the third generation of a long-established construction company that has been in this area since Showa 25, started the MOKUHARU brand in 2017 with the idea of "reviving this wood industry with the power of wood."
The "Kishu wood" harvested in Kumano is characterized by its strong strength and good eye-opening, and is used as a material for various wooden products such as furniture and cutting boards. In this blessed land, the trees have been abundantly nurtured in a divine abundance. We want to deliver these Kumano trees to you. With that in mind, we started selling furniture and miscellaneous goods.
