Tengo Brewery pursues a truly sustainable and one-of-a-kind craft sake that combines the blessed natural environment of Fukuchi Town with traditional sake brewing techniques. Fukuchi Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, is blessed with rich nature, and has a wonderful water source. The use of this pristine water and carefully selected rice grown in the fertile local soil gives the region a unique flavor. And in accordance with the "traditional sake brewing" that has been recommended for certification as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, the first thing is to be close to nature. We pursue a taste that changes over time and slowly deepens.
In particular, the flagship product "Tengo" uses completely pesticide-free rice that is carefully grown in the same Fukuchi Town rice fields using the duck farming method in close proximity to nature itself. Without relying on pesticides or chemical fertilizers, the duck makes full use of the plump flavor of the rice, which is grown healthily through recycling-oriented agriculture that suppresses weeds and pests. In addition, the brewed water incorporates rare radon mineral water, which is mineral-rich underground water from Mt. Fukuchi, to maximize the power of the water.
Our mission is to contribute to local community development, industry development, and human resource development, and to convey the appeal of sake to the world through "sake", which is a wonderful traditional Japan culture.
