The sails of a yacht that has finished sailing will never appear on the market. For more than 10 years, I have been going to pick it up myself when I am approached by a fellow yachtsman, and I have been communicating with them to get them to give it to me.
The sail you received is dismantled by cutting the metal fittings and ends using special scissors. Depending on the size of the sail, it is divided into 5 parts, and the large sail is divided into about 10 parts, and it is cut so that the letters and patterns such as the sail number can be used so that there is no waste. The cut material is washed in the atelier, squirted, bleached, and dried in the shade before being sewed. It takes a lot of work compared to a new sail, but its texture is what makes it taste.
