1. A flat bag with a unique pattern of fabric
Each antique kimono fabric has a unique and distinctive color and design. For this reason, "Muromachi Kurebukuro" focuses on making bags on flat surfaces so that we can maximize the flavor of the beautiful fabrics made by our craftsmen.
2. Combination of materials that determine the individuality of the fabric
The antique kimono fabric that serves as the outer fabric of Muromachi Kure Bag comes in a variety of materials such as silk, cotton, and polyester, and comes in a wide variety of colors. We identify the individuality of each of these fabrics and consider all the combinations of lining and handles for each outer fabric.
3. Design and durability
For the lining of Muromachi Kurebukuro, we have selected washer-processed fabrics woven with a blend of hemp and cotton yarn, fabrics that match the texture of antique fabrics, and more recently, canvas fabrics.
In addition, the handle uses Sanada strings used for tea utensils and obi fastening, and more recently, leather strings, and we are always pursuing not only design but also durability of the bag.
4. Every item is one-of-a-kind
The kimono fabric with a large design will have a completely different atmosphere depending on the position of cutting. Even fabrics with a fine all-over design can have slight individual differences depending on the position of cutting, so Muromachi Kurebukuro has the interesting effect that all products are one-of-a-kind.
5. Waste-free manufacturing
In order to make the most of antique kimono fabrics, we also devise a cutting method so that there is no excess on the fabric. For example, the tote bag that we have been making since the start of the brand is a size that makes the most of the width of the cloth as it is, and the mini tote bag is designed so that it can be molded by two from the width of the object.
