"Good things with wood" "Good things with wood"
〜Wood 4 Good〜
We are engaged in the development of baby products for department stores and major baby specialty stores.
While planning and selling baby products, I had the opportunity to hear from a wooden product designer who had a relationship with me about issues related to Japan's forestry.
Nearly 70% of Japan's land area is forested. Despite this, Japan's timber self-sufficiency rate is about 30%.
There are various factors, but we believe that the depopulation and aging of mountain forest areas and the decrease in the number of people engaged in the forestry industry are a major factor.
We believe that this is partly due to the fact that the demand for domestic lumber has decreased due to the introduction of foreign and imported wood products from around 1960, and the number of jobs has gradually decreased.
Therefore, we thought that we could contribute to the forestry industry in Japan by utilizing our experience in product development and sales to launch and sell new wooden product brands.
By selling wooden products, we hope to circulate work little by little and connect the people who are engaged in it.
By doing so, we have launched "Wood 4 Good" so that we can contribute to the circulation of people and trees and the protection of the environment.
