Earth-friendly materials for beautiful cups
In 2023, the Ecoffee Cup® has evolved to be more earth-friendly.
The material of the cup body has been changed from conventional bamboo fiber (bamboo fiber) to polylactic acid (PLA), a type of plant-derived bioplastic. Polylactic acid is a biopolymer made from starches such as sugar beets, corn, and sugar cane, and is attracting attention as a carbon-neutral eco-material, unlike petroleum-derived plastics.
The carbon contained in polylactic acid was originally taken up by plants from carbon dioxide in the air. The carbon dioxide generated during incineration only returns to what was originally in the air, and the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere does not increase, so it is considered zero deduction.
In addition, it does not contain any BPA, BPS, or phthalates, which have been pointed out to be harmful to humans, and safety is given the utmost consideration. The holder and lid are made of food-grade silicone and are compatible with hot drinks.
In addition to selecting environmentally friendly materials, they are also particular about design, and have developed collections based on the works of world-famous artists. By balancing beautiful design with environmental friendliness, eco-friendly choices are more accessible and enjoyable.
