Sustainable winemaking through tradition and innovation
In Yamanashi, we combine traditional Japan viticulture techniques with advanced winemaking philosophies learned in California. Studying under a well-known grape grower in Kofu, he learned cultivation methods suitable for Japan's unique climate and sublimated his techniques from a modern perspective.
In the vineyards of Yozo Vineyards, we pay close attention to each bunch and practice "careful grape cultivation". Using delicate methods such as Japan's unique shelf-type treetops, bagging, and umbrella hanging, we are committed to growing the highest quality grapes.
In 2024, we will be registered as a "Yamanashi SDGs Promotion Company". We are actively promoting initiatives to realize sustainable management, such as improving production efficiency using digital technology and AI, making effective use of resources through advanced agricultural technologies, and creating a fair working environment.
In addition to simply making wine, we regularly hold viticulture experience events to provide many people with the opportunity to experience the charm and depth of winemaking. The hands-on program, which can be participated in on a day trip from Tokyo, is a valuable opportunity for city dwellers to come into contact with nature and experience the joy of farming.
Sustainable winemaking that respects tradition but is not afraid to innovate, and is considerate of the region and the environment – that is what Yozo Vineyards believes in.
