Since our founding, we have been operating employee cafeterias for companies and city halls, and while continuing to operate the cafeteria, we felt the importance of food education, which was the impetus for the development of "Pakuoon".
A registered dietitian is stationed in the employee cafeteria and provides food based on the daily menu, but in a "cafeteria-style" cafeteria where people choose what they like to eat, it was difficult for them to choose a menu with vegetables.
Since I was a child, I have held cooking classes to convey the importance of eating vegetables in a well-balanced manner, but only about 10 people participate in cooking classes at a time. I felt that there was a limit to how much I could spread the importance of food education to many people.
In the meantime, I got to know Marushige Seika, a manufacturer that makes tableware that can be eaten, such as the skin of ice cream, and when I tried to sell it on an experimental basis by putting buns on tableware that can be eaten during the cherry blossom festival, the amount of waste was reduced, and the children were very happy, saying, "This plate can be eaten!"
When I saw the children enjoying their meals naturally, I thought, "I think I can do something with this!"
Also, around that time, my sister's child was eating baby food, and when she went out, she had to put the used spoon in a plastic bag and take it home, so I heard that she was throwing away plastic spoons from 100 yen stores.
I decided to develop an edible spoon because I thought that if I could eat the spoon as it is, I would be able to reduce waste, make it easier for children to hold, and lead to food education.
