Tomo-Cola begins with our desire to convey the wonderful materials of Japan, which is our origin. Tomo-Cola's founder and perfumer, Tomo, launched the brand in the summer of 2018 out of a desire for food and a love for Japanese ingredients, at a time when even the word "craft cola" was not yet common. The trigger was a strong desire to incorporate more diversity and the blessings of nature into the drink called cola, which had a strong image of being the same taste and not healthy everywhere.
If you look at the history of cola, it was originally a medicinal drink made with spices and herbs from all over the world, and like modern curries and hot pots, it was a drink that shone with the individuality of each region. However, he questioned the current situation where additives and artificial flavors had become the mainstream due to the standardization of the times, and he wanted to restore the original appearance of cola.
He personally travels to satoyamas and fields across the country, and while talking directly with producers, he carefully selects and uses only materials he knows. Our mission is to incorporate rare Japanese spices, herbs, citrus fruits, etc. that lie in various parts of Japan, rediscover the richness of Japanese food culture and nature through cola, and pass it on to the next generation.
