"Irodori Farm" surrounded by abundant nature in Miyama City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
We started farming in 2017 as a husband and wife, and we are now in our eighth year. I chose the path of agriculture because I wanted to deliver the crops I grew with my own hands to as many people as possible.
Agriculture is a precious job that nurtures life while facing nature and feeling the change of seasons firsthand. Among them, I was particularly fascinated by "Yamakawa mandarin oranges", which are a specialty of Miyama City, and started to create a farm centered on mandarin oranges.
When I first started farming, I had little knowledge or experience, and it was a series of trial and error. However, thanks to the warm guidance of senior farmers in the area and the support of my family, I have been able to continue to this day.
Their first son was born in November 2021, and they now have a large family of one son and five daughters. It is also important to create an environment where children can feel that farming is fun.
Our goal is to create agriculture that even girls can do. Agriculture has the image of a lot of hard work, but we overcome it with wisdom and ingenuity, and the whole family works together to grow a colorful farm. Making the most of the blessings of nature, he grows crops with a focus on quality, and his wife, who has experience as a former pastry chef, makes processed products with her own hands that bring out the charm of the ingredients. Through such consistent manufacturing from the field to the table, we would like to convey the rich food culture of Miyama City to many people.
