About the brand
We use non-standard wood, which is difficult to attach, and finish each one by hand in the traditional way of making wooden vessels.
We will protect the forest and Japan's handiwork "woodworking potter's wheel" with fair trade of wood.
Since we purchase non-standard trees directly from forestry companies, the types of trees are aggregated as "hardwoods". The large bundle improves production efficiency and stabilizes the supply of products
Each piece is made by hand using the traditional craft "woodworking potter's wheel" technique.
The vessel is coated with the natural material "black lacquer", making it a product that is friendly to both nature and people.

堆朱 杏奈
Anna Tsuishu
Studied lacquer art at Tohoku University of Art and Design.
After experiencing the Great East Japan Earthquake while in school, I decided to make a vessel because I thought that "meal time" was an irreplaceable thing to interact with people during the day.
At the Yamanaka Lacquerware Industrial Technology Center in Ishikawa Prefecture, he learned about traditional crafts such as woodworking and potter's wheels.
He trained for four years under Shintaro Tsuji, who had been his teacher for a long time. Independence in the form of taking over the work of the master.
In the 9th year, he witnessed problems such as a shortage of raw wood and a shortage of successors in the lacquerware production area, and launched "Shinkokyu" as a solution.

Why are we doing?
What are we doing?
Commitment to the product
Who are supporting us?
"I want to protect forests and handicrafts through fair trade of wood."
Did you know that it is difficult to attach value to domestic wood?
Trees cut down by the forestry industry are not sold at a substandard price, but are now expensive to dispose of. In this situation, the forest is not well maintained, the forest becomes desolate, and it is not possible to prevent landslides.
Also, while living and working in a town with a lacquerware industry, I felt that it would be very difficult to pass on to future generations with the current system. The problem is the "shortage of materials".
The forestry industry has a problem with the disposal of wood, while the lacquerware industry has a shortage of wood. In order to solve these problems, we launched "Shinkokyu".
In order to add value to wood, it is essential to "manufacture according to the tree".
For this reason, the following three points are the characteristics of "Shinkokyu".
1 Lumping together with "hardwoods"
2Use a "special sawing method" to produce a wide range of products even with small-diameter wood.
3Production by "handwork" that can handle small lots
It is very, very difficult to efficiently commercialize trees that have been cut down by forestry, such as thin trees and disjointed tree species. However, depending on ingenuity, it is possible to create value in wood and preserve traditional handiwork.
Commitment to the product
We are particular not only about the manufacturing method, but also about using "black lacquer" for all vessels. Lacquer is the sap of the "lacquer tree". Is it easy to understand if you imagine maple syrup?
Lacquer has an antibacterial effect, so it can be washed without using detergent.
Bowl
I think that the bowl has a strong impression of putting soup, but if you use it as a bowl of "white rice", not only will the whiteness of the rice stand out, but the lacquer will absorb moisture (steam), so even if you put freshly cooked rice, it will not be sticky and you can enjoy delicious rice.
Grass
Wooden products have the characteristics of "difficult to clean" and "vessels do not heat up" because heat conduction is difficult to transmit. This Grass is especially thin on the legs, so it is easy to grip and you can hold it with peace of mind without feeling the heat.
The brand is just getting started. I'm excited to see what kind of people will use it in the future.
Also, in the past, Japan people "coexisted with the mountains". Mountains were an indispensable part of our lives. But now the mountains are moving away from people's lives. However, people still live with the benefits of the forest. It may be difficult to feel it in everyday life. Therefore, I would like you to feel the blessings of the forest through the tableware.
