As a catalyst for regional revitalization and revitalization of shopping districts
The Tsuruoka Ginza Shopping Street in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture, where we are based, developed as a townspeople town during the Edo period when merchants and industrialists gathered to supply daily necessities to the samurai living around Tsurugaoka Castle. In recent years, it has been swept away by the waves of the times and is in decline.
We want to think about "urban development" that is easy for the next generation to live in, and continue to light up the liveliness together with the local community.
With that in mind, THE OOS has set up four missions.
MISSION❶【 Food Loss 】
6 million tons of food is wasted annually even though it can still be eaten. Incineration also has a negative impact on the environment. We directly buy agricultural products that farmers are forced to dispose of outside of shipping standards and make them into cold-pressed juices. We support the community by practicing "mottainai".
MISSION❷【 Wellness 】
Cold-pressed juices, which can be squeezed without applying heat to the material, can maximize the destruction of nutrients. The target intake of vegetables that a person needs per day is 350g. A cup of THE OOS juice contains about 1,000g of fruits and vegetables.
MISSION❸【 Sustainability 】
A place for continuous communication between people involved in the community is indispensable for the circulation of resources and the revitalization of the local economy. The relationship of trust created through communication will create new innovations in the region, help each other in times of emergency, and create a sustainable city.
MISSION❹【 Education 】
Through various experiences such as farming and harvesting experiences and composting parent-child classes, we cultivate knowledge about "food" and the ability to choose "food" and raise children who can realize healthy eating habits.
