The charm of clay is that you can actually touch the material to create a shape, and it is shaped while you are moving your hands. That's why it's so difficult, but that's where it makes it worthwhile.
We aim for something that is not just cute, but something that is well crafted and carefully crafted. The form of an animal can be made by deception rather than clay, but it is molded with a firm understanding of the structure of the skeleton and body. By doing so, even if you complete it with a blurred look, it will have a strong presence when displayed as a figurine.
The clay is dried and fired after molding.
After that, color them one by one. Depending on the animal, the color is repeated many times to express the coat and appearance. Then, the coating agent is attached and fired again.
In addition, all the flowers and plants that are attached to the animals are hand-dyed and applied with a trowel to give them an expression. It would be easy if you used ready-made art flowers here, but they just don't fit the clay look.
Even if it takes a long time, the flowers are made from scratch with cloth. Depending on the type of flower, the type of fabric such as cotton, silk, velvet, etc. is also changed.
In hand-dyeing, dyeing powder is blended to make colors. It's difficult to make the same color again because the color changes with a spoonful, but that's also fun. In addition, sometimes it is deliberately blurred in color. I want you to see the deep and gentle colors that can be created by mixing colors with each other.
I like to work with a lot of time and effort, and that's what I'm particular about in my work.
