Andrew Rademacher, creator and founder of Lems shoes, knew that all the jar shoe brands were wrong. Shoes should be made in accordance with the natural shape of the human foot, and not vice versa. This means that the shoe should be the widest in the forefoot and toe of the shoe, while allowing for complete flexibility and unrestricted movement.
To find shoes that fit the natural shape of my feet, I started by dissecting my favorite running shoes and cutting out any excess unwanted material. Andrew learned shoemaking in his own way, learning shoe fittings, shoe mold construction, and pattern making, allowing him to design shoes that are unlike any other in the market.
After three years of research, countless hours of design, and dozens of prototypes, Andrew's unwavering focus finally paid off. In September 2011, Lems shoes released its first product, Primal.
Lems shoes remains true to his mission to create shoes that fit naturally and is still in constant shoe development.
In addition, we actively promote the adoption of environmentally friendly vegan materials and support SOLES4SOULS's initiatives.
"SOLES4SOULS turns unwanted shoes and clothing into opportunities by putting them to good use instead of wasting them, empowering people to provide relief, create jobs, and break the cycle of poverty."
We work daily towards our mission to be a fully sustainable company, and we are always looking for ways to further that goal. At Lems shoes, we make the most of everything nature has to offer, and we feel it's important to give back.
