In 2014, Corby Bauer, a surfing and skateboarding enthusiast in Hawaii, lost her wallet on the beach and came up with an innovative idea while looking for a new one. The idea of an elastic wallet inspired by the elastic clasp of broccoli in the vegetable section of the supermarket is the origin of THREAD®. In 2015, he raised funds through crowdfunding, founded a company in Utah with his wife, Mckenzie, and obtained a design patent for a wallet. Centered on a wallet with a sophisticated minimalist design, we develop products such as key chains and bags that fit into active daily life. In 2019, he was selected by Forbes as one of the 500 fastest-growing startups in the United States. By 2024, the company will have seven company-managed stores and will be available in more than 1,300 stores in the United States. In the spring of 2025, we will start developing the brand in Japan.

What are we doing?
THREAD® was born out of a need for expression and functionality. Life comes with things to carry, but it doesn't have to be boring or inconvenient. For us, it all started with our wallets. We've turned the traditional concept of wallets on its head. It's the kind of big, ugly wallet your dad has had for decades. They replaced bulky things with slim silhouettes that don't feel heavy, and boring designs with a wide variety of original colors. From there, it expanded into straps, bags, lip balm holders, and a variety of other carry items that can be used to store and carry everyday essentials. Every time you go out or run errands, check out the TREAD® products that express your originality. We redefine the way you carry and at the same time make you look very nice.
Our goal is to be the No. 1 accessory brand for all things carry. To that end, we will continue to plan and develop new items that are expressive, minimalistic, and functional.
