At Kiyosen, the core of the brand is "conveying the authentic deliciousness of Uji tea," with thorough attention to every aspect of origin, ingredients, and production methods. Our base is in Ujitawaramachi, Kyoto, the birthplace of green tea. Only tea leaves grown here from Ujitahara Town, Wazuka Town, and Minamiyamashiro Town are used, and only those whose fields are clearly identified by the producers are carefully selected. This enables us to personally manage every step from the growth of tea leaves to picking, processing, refrigeration, and shipping, establishing a system capable of delivering the highest quality Uji tea.
Another pillar of Kiyoizumi is its commitment to matcha sweets. Sweets made with matcha and hojicha do not rely solely on appearance, flavorings, or colorings; instead, premium Uji matcha and stem hojicha used at tea gatherings are generously used, maximizing the natural flavor and color of the ingredients. For example, matcha chocolate maximizes the amount of matcha blended to the limit, using no artificial coloring or flavorings, and achieves a vivid green color and rich flavor through a unique production method. To bring out the aroma and umami of high-quality stem roasted tea, the white chocolate base and packaging materials are carefully selected.
In product development, we value blending traditional techniques with modern needs. For example, we have taken measures such as deep steaming and microwave drying to maximize the individuality of the tea leaves. From the perspective of the SDGs, we actively adopt locally sourced and additive-free ingredients, striving for safe, secure, and environmentally conscious manufacturing. This commitment supports Kiyoizumi's brand value of being "kind to nature and people."
