Kubode Takao
The third generation of Takumi head lacquermakers. In 2013, at the age of 25, he returned to his hometown to take over the family business, Kijishi. In 2018, concerned about a shortage of workers, he launched his own brand to spread the profession of woodsmith from his company, which had been a middleman in the lacquerware industry. "IPPONGI" is a wooden wine glass that requires a high level of technology, and "mebuki" is made from knotty wood that has been discarded in the past. Through IPPONGI and mebuki, we will spread woodwork throughout the country.
