[The trigger was the torrential rain disaster in western Japan]
In 2018, heavy rains in western Japan caused great damage to Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture.
In particular, in the landslide disaster caused by the abandoned bamboo forest, roads, water, and electricity were cut off, and our town became like an "island on land".
I still can't forget the fear and anxiety I felt at that time.
"I don't want to do the same thing again."
With that in mind, I started maintaining the bamboo forest.
But it also costs money to continue the activity.
Therefore, we focused on how to connect it with the family business construction business and use bamboo as a weed-proof material.
I decided to make bamboo chips and sell them.
Our brand name "TEGO" is based on the Hiroshima dialect of "Tegoru".
While "TEGO" the problem of bamboo forests, we will also "TEGO" the garden.
I put that thought into this name.
While being close to nature and the community, I want to be of some help to someone.
TEGO aims to be such a brand.
