IKUMI OTSUBO
Born in Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from the Department of Fashion Design at Osaka Mode Gakuen, she gained experience as a designer at an apparel company in Tokyo, but felt that there were issues such as the production environment, unsold products, and a decline in domestic production. In 2020, he founded OLIFE Co., Ltd. in Okinawa, which is rich in nature, and with the philosophy of "meaningful manufacturing," he took on the challenge of employing people, improving technology, and creating a system for fair trade and recycling-oriented production.
Overseas, we will create jobs and spread Japan's advanced sewing technology through technical guidance to local seamstresses, and in Japan, we will work to create local employment and pass on traditional crafts by setting up sewing factories in cooperation with businesses. In addition, he contributes to solving problems through sewing management, technical guidance, and design work.
In addition to apparel, we continue to take on the challenge of creating a system that can face social issues, eliminate waste, and continue to create valuable products.
