A thousand cranes with a lot of thoughts delivered not only from Japan but also from all over the world. We hope that the origami cranes that have been reborn as FANO will deliver the wind of peace to the world.
About TOKOLOCOM Ver.
"TOKOLOCOM Ver." is a special product based on the special specification FANO donated to Hiroshima City for distribution to ambassadors and regional representatives of each country at the "Reiwa 7 (2025) Peace Memorial Ceremony" held on August 6, 2025.
In addition to the design of the fan surface by artist Asao Noro, this product uses indigo-dyed handles and handle string fasteners. In addition, the packaging uses "Awa washi" from Tokushima Prefecture, which boasts a history of 1,300 years, and pursues the fusion of materials and traditional techniques.
"Indigo" is a color with a special meaning that Mr. Noro also used as the emblem of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In commercializing this product, we connected with Tokushima Prefecture, which is the largest producer of natural indigo dyes in Japan, and a collaboration that resulted in materials, technology, and design was realized.
[About the design]
The FANO donated this time is designed based on the important concept of "individual, group, and discipline" in the creation of Mr. Asao Noro.
"Individual" means each element or part, "group" means the aggregate formed by them coming together, and "Ritsu" means the rules and laws for assembling them. The idea is that by combining these three elements well, diverse and beautiful patterns and designs can be created. Furthermore, this concept contains the message of "recognizing diversity and creating connections," which is expressed in the word "PEACE" that can be conveyed to everyone. In addition, FANO's unique 360-degree bellows structure and the alternating color scheme of indigo and white, which are traditional Japan colors, show a variety of expressions, such as the word PEACE appearing and hiding depending on the viewing angle.
